A 2020 Campaign
designer / art director / co-collaborator
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic brought everyday life to a standstill, I collaborated with copywriter Paulina Ashe-Reeder to explore how familiar advertising could be repurposed to communicate an urgent public health message.
Drawing inspiration from the visual identities, iconic slogans, and advertising styles of LEGO, Nike, Calvin Klein, and IKEA, we created a series of playful, culturally relevant advertisements that delivered a serious message through familiar imagery.
The result was a conceptual PSA campaign that used humor, nostalgia, and brand recognition to make public health messaging more approachable and memorable.
Pixel art advertisements using LEGO's recognizable building blocks to illustrate and celebrate essential workers and their contributions during the pandemic.
Week 1: LEGO
A reinterpretation of Nike's iconic "Just Do It" campaign, featuring six sneakers as a visual reference to social distancing guidelines.
Week 2: Nike
A stay-at-home adaptation of Calvin Klein's recognizable #mycalvins campaign, encouraging audiences to embrace staying inside.
Week 3: Calvin Klein
Catalog-inspired advertisements featuring recognizable scenes from Black cinema, playing on the rise of at-home entertainment during lockdown.
Week 4: IKEA
Additional Assets
Following a successful four-week run of reimagined advertisements, we took a moment on Mother's Day to introduce original artwork — celebrating the many roles and responsibilities of mothers while acknowledging the challenges they faced during the pandemic.
